Just to add. I recently took delivery of an SB+, never heard a Transporter so can't comment about a potential comparison. I'm using the SB+ purely as a transport, outputting the digital signal to an external Bel Canto DAC2. What I can comment on is the difference between my existing Meridian 500 CD tranport, which is rated as one of the better CDTs available, and that's before you add in the uprated clock, use of good anti-vibration kit. Out of the box, I preferred the Meridian, that was at least until the SB+ PSU got some time on it to burn in. The SB+ now sounds very much on par with my Meridian, meaning that I'm a happy bunny.
