There is a difference between the bi-amp a lot of people use, and the
real bi-amp. 
Real bi-amping requires 1 amplifier for each driver (normally 1 for the
bass and 1 for the mid/treble), and electronic crossovers. However, most
people just throw an extra amplifier in and call it biamping.

About the biwire, yes, I agree a bit with you. Reading tests of Martin
Logan they always recommend biwire, in fact they say it is mandatory if
you want the maximum out of the speakers, however, I didnt do any tests
myself, I just have very small holes out of my stereo cabinet for
speaker wires. Maybe I should try single, with a piece of wire between
the terminals...and I should maybe have shielded wires since the
speaker cables run with antenna cable and power wires..., but I do not
have any noise issues....
