I won't offer any technical explanations because you could beat me at
that any day :-) but I will say this is very well-known at AVS Forum
and that it's very repeatable for me in every location I've ever had my
equipment.  So much so that if I hear that 60 Hz hum from my sub I know
where to look first, and it goes away right away when I adjust the
placement even slightly.
