Got my Squeezebox 2 today. Man that was fast! The seller was in Colorado and he sent it DHL Express, for just $10 S&H. Very nice of him.
The unit is in mint condition, virtually brand new. It looks so nice that I almost feel guilty about taking it apart. The Squeezebox 2 is the unit that pretty much started it all, in the audiophile sense. Perhaps a collectible in the future? I know Sean Adams at only 27 is quickly becoming an icon and I'm sure he'll be joining the likes of John Curl, Jim Bongiorno, Steve McCormack and others. If he hasn't already! I have read a lot about the SB2's appearance, comparing it to an alarm clock and such. But you know what? Looks great in person! The rubbery plastic of the case is great. Even the remote has that rubbery plastic on it. Audio Research remotes are also rubber coated. So perhaps the cheapie remote thing started when the SB3 was released.
