Perhaps he is biased...but regardless Sean is spot on right. There is a huge amount of knowledge and engineering to go into a quality audiophile component. The $1 DAC chips are just one element, and most of the newer, better delta-sigmas are more similar than different these days. It is the critical implementations around them that make the product what it is. I wouldn't expect the first execution of a non-audiophile company to be as well tested/reviewed as the Transporter was/is. If you have not, take a look at the Stereophile review of this component....they were blown away -- and while looking take critical note of the technical bench performance.....This is all about end-end engineering...not the DAC chip. -- jt25741 SB3->AR Masters Coax -> PS Audio DLIII -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio P5 -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio W5 -> Cardas Golden Reference Hi-Mid,PS Audio Xstream Plus Low-> Magnepan 3.6R ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jt25741's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8645 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36024 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
