I just tried a 24bit 96KHz sample track from Linn and it worked with my SB3 and external DAC with the SB3 receiving a FLAC from the slimserver.
There was a short burst of clicks (like dropped bits) at the beginning of the track. Don't know whether this is caused by the SB3 or DAC (but I do know that the DAC supports 24bit/96KHz).
