That would go under what I called "all else being equal" before: few CD-transports I've auditioned over the years offered WC inputs at all, so who can say if what goes wrong (if indeed anything goes wrong) is due to the format, the cables or, as you essentially appear to be alluding to, the DAC's PLL? But then, whatever "bothers" a DAC's PLL cannot be entirely the PLL's fault, right?
