There are various standalone boxes that can do this - I've had 3 different TacT models, deqx has some, and of course Behringer.
They are all separate boxes, so something to buy, more cables, and something else in the rack. Also, even "audiophile" devices like the TacT process the signal from its native frequency, and are not transparent to the source. I've even used outstanding DACs which operate at TacT's native frequency and ultimately decided all the processing isn't worth it. The beauty of doing it in Slimserver is that the signal can be manipulated through its native form, before ever leaving the computer. There is no apparent distortion nor loss of resolution and the rest of the system can remain unchanged. It's a true example of all the benefits without the downsides. -- miklorsmith ------------------------------------------------------------------------ miklorsmith's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4349 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38739 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
