If they both sound the same when they are both connected in your setup
then the Toslink is probably better. The big advantage of Tos with the
Squeezebox is that it isolates downstream components from the noise the
SB produces. Since you have both connected even when the Coax is turned
off it will polluting your processor with noise. Disconnecting the coax
will in all likelihood improve the Toslink performance. Personally I've
notices an improvement in my system with a  little  more "ease"  when I
go with Toslink (though I must admit that the added jitter some people
claim Toslink causes won't show up because I reclock with a Big Ben)
