Actually you will probably get into trouble quickly, feeding high power, high frequency signals into your speakers, square or sine wave. Most tweeters can only take a fraction of a watt for an extended period of time.
I remember reading an interview with one of Keith Emersons (ELP) sound techs, in which he talks about Keiths big ole Moog vs modern sampling keyboards. One of his comments was about having to reset tweeter fuses and circuit breakers all the time when Keith was having fun with the Moog! But not a big problem when he played the sampled stuff!
