Indeed. Until it runs out of battery. ;-)

But really, it's just the passion for the mechanical movement and the
craftsmanship. I have always loved watches - my Dad bought me a
mechanical watch when I was 6, and that tends to do things to a boy's
brain. ;-)

Same here. I even have a 6x6 Rolleiflex (my Dad's) that takes gorgeous
pictures, and yet, shame on me, I just use the digital cameras. But the
Squeezebox is best proof that, when quality is good, then convenience
will win over that last little (and inconviently achieved) performance
optimization. That's the digital ace up the sleeve, every time.

I love motorcycles. Have 2 of them, a modern BMW boxer, and a classic
Norton. As to cars, the ones I really like are classics. At some point
in time they started to build cars for leasing convenience, not for
collectivity and passion. They're all pretty much the same these days.
For passion you have to go very exotic (Porsche is the entry point), or
very inconvenient (a Morgan roadster is on my list of things to do
before I count dandelion roots in their natural habitat). Other cars
have just become appliances. ;-)
