The sb3 and the transporter sounds very similar. My experince when i connected them strait to my amps in my 100 k system is that the transporter sounds more real with a deeper soundstage.
The transporter is a sb3 with a better dacs build in powersupply and a fancy casing and lights , thats it. Im not suprised that the differences are subbel But here my agreement stops. 60 years of audio evolution , mostly done by a/b blindtesting, and the conclusion by most manufactors reviewers, engineers is the source and the speakers have the biggest influence on the overall sound . I find the sources to have a HUGE impact on the sound, if its noisy or glarish,coloured warm .bright dynamicly dead, you will here it if your system is up to it. But ofcause there are alwasy hifi skeptics like the one i read about in the early 80`s that claimed that all audio sounds the same, luckly the are not the ones that produce oure gear .
