Chinanico, I would invite a friend round and do a little blind test. Your impressions might alter when you don't know which is playing. It is possible the differences will become surprisingly subtle (or even that your preference will reverse). This might achieve what you want for no money.
Every report on the SB3 heard blind shows it at least compares well to other players (my test came to the this conclusion even though I didn't think so beforehand...go figure). If you don't believe in the placebo effect feel free to ignore this advice. :-) General comments. SB3 is a nice sounding, flexible little player...I confess it has grown on me. I do have a linear regulated supply - but a cheap one. My view is *as long as it's cheap* it can't do any harm.
