Absolutely right, we are way off the subject. IMHO, save money for other
system needs, do not buy traps or other absorbing products. Fix the
issue that would make you think a trap was needed instead of adding to
the problem by chasing the symptom.

Humidity does effect sound, but I do not think any of us have a 1000
meter long listening room! I do live in North America. I have three
brand new Lennox Elite 97% efficient Natural Gas HVAC units. They are
so efficient that the vent gases are so cool that they can be vented
using only 3-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe. The vents also go straight out
the side walls like dryer vents so I was able to get rid of all my roof
vent pipes to tighten up my roof (no vent boots anymore, except for the
one plumbing vent). Water heater is an outside mounted tankless endless
hot-water Rinnai unit. The HVAC system has April Air humidifiers on each
of the three units (house has 8 zones) that keep the level at 40% in the
winter. The main floor has mostly red oak hardwood floors and they love
not getting dried out like my neighbors in the winter. The basement
floor has a whole house dehumidifier for the other 6 months out of the
year. It is set to automatically come on if the humidity gets above
41%. I think humidity is not an issue for me when it comes to listening
to music if only because I can consider it a constant.

We bought this 15-year-old bigger house with an In-law suite because my
mother has health issues and the doctor said she could not live at her
home alone anymore. One of the health issues is her lungs so all the
old HVAC had to go so that humidity could be controlled (kept at around
40% with year round temp of 72 degrees) and really clean processed air
produced.
