Thanks, Ceejay , I seem to understand it better now :) especially the effect of checking more than one for a given fuile type. I have fiddled before, and now I'm home I see I've removed checkmarks from most of the conversion options except those to convert to flac. For example, I have
"Apple Lossless -- FLAC" checked (only) and no checks at all on "Apple AAC, lossless or movie file" I'm not sure what the difference is between these two, but it seems to fit my intention to convert .m4a to FLAC to keep quality but minimise network traffic. I take the point earlier in the thread about losing ability to ffw and rew but this doesn't matter to me. -- SteveC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SteveC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=665 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39867 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
