I'm afraid each stream is independant, so if you have 10 Squeezeboxes, it will require 10 times the bandwidth of streaming to a single Squeezebox. > In the latter case, I would assume 4 stations is about the maximum one > could truly shoot for with 802.11 standards when streaming FLACs? I couldn't really say how many you could stream to from a single connection, but looking at a few FLAC albums in my library I see bitrates ranging from about 530 kbps to 993 kbps. I would think 10 or more Squeezeboxes would be feasible if you had anywhere near the full 54 Mbps of an 802.11g wireless network. It will depend a lot on your particular network's performance. I know weaker signals reduce the transmission rate, sometimes substantially. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40437 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
