I've recently purchased the squeezebox, which I am really enjoying.
However, I don't seem to be getting the "oomph" that I hope that I
would when using it. My system is pretty simple- McIntosh MA6500
integrated amp and B&W 804 Nautilus speakers. The squeezebox is hooked
up through the analog outputs.

The sound is a bit thin, though hitting the "loud" button on the
McIntosh gives it more richness, I don't like distorting the sound this
way because I miss the highs.

Sorry about the vague language. Has anyone had a similar impression of
the squeezebox and if so, what steps did you take to remedy it? I'd
rather not spend a whole whack of money on a separate DAC. The power
supply seems to be a seesaw battle on hear, but seems expensive for a
"what the heck". Inguz' equalizer, coupled with the "loud" button
seems like it could be workable, but I'm running OSX and Inguz isn't
available on that operating system yet.

Thanks all.
