Since the amp and the speakers are both excellent, the question is what your original reference source is. What CD player have you been listening to? Does it have an input for other digital sources? If so, do what I did with my original setup - I used the SB3 optical output and fed it to the Accuphase CD players digital input to use the CD player (which I was used to) as a DA converter. I was back to the sound I was used to, so it was an utterly transparent path that mixed the sound I was used to with the utter convenience of the SB.
