My first question is what source files are you feeding the SB3? If it is MP4 or MP3 that could really make a difference. Rip a CD that you think is currently lacking to FLAC and listen to that. If it is still lacking, borrow a DAC from a friend or Audio Dealer and see if that solves the problem. As somebody has already said, it could just be what you were listening to since you didn't list your old CD player. But with the main equipment, you have added a good $300 SB3 that is the lesser of the remaining equipment. If all else fails, try a DAC or a Transporter. They would be my opinion of a better match to what your system contains. -- iPhone iPhone Last.FM http://www.lastfm.com/user/mePhone Media Room: Transporter, Vandersteen Quatro Signature, Ayre MX-R Mono Blocks, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, VCC-5 Reference Center Channel, four VSM-1 Signatures, Runco 710, RAM Oppo DV970HD, VeraStarr 6.4SE Living Room: Squeezebox 3, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold Bedroom: Squeezebox 3, Thiel 2.3, NAD C370 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40581 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
