Now I'm not trying to be confrontational here, but do people really use DACs as tone controls? Really?
Isn't that like using a wrench to hammer a nail? Are people afraid of tone controls in preamps that much? I know that tone controls in preamps (and indeed, preamps themselves) muck about with the 'pure' signal, but if a DAC alters the tonal balance isn't it doing the same thing - but in a way you can't fully control? Again, I'm not looking to start an argument, I've been seeing this a lot on the forum and this morning it just struck me as kind of odd. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40581 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
