I do have some of this media! My point was that it is actually
supported in so far as you can play it and it sounds great. You mean
supported without any form of downsampling...I'm merely questioning if
that is important because of audible sound quality or because of a
theoretical benefit to audible sound quality.

Pretty much any hardware is ultimately going to become redundant or
obsolete over time. A PC-based solution will suffer the same fate...486
motherboards anyone?
