Cheap hard disc space is a very small price to pay for input signal integrity. Just as I used to look after my vinyl, I want to make sure that my system starts with the best signal possible. GIGO. In any case, even with the best will and intention in the world, mucking about with digital files in this way can and does introduce audible distortion, even if it is not intentional. Isn't that what started this thread in the first place? Isn't that what you want fixed?
