wireless vs wired - should sound identical. Easy enough to try - just run a cable (temporarily)
ALC - is lossless, right? - in which case, lossless is lossless. There is a (very small) bunch of folks who prefer to stream WAV (ie use server-side decoding). Personally I'm 100% unconvinced. Have you tried swapping the coax and toslink cables between the SB and the Denon?
