Well, in my experience things such as tonality and imaging are
completely unaffected by the digital transport (assuming it basically
works OK which yours do). Other folks disagree - sometimes violently.

IMHO these things come 100% from the DAC and specifically its PSU and
analogue stages. However, the possibility exists that there can be an
interaction between the transport and the DAC that "interferes" with
the DAC and affects the sound. The ability of the DAC to rejeect/handle
jitter is also key here IMHO.
