I guess it'll make it sound like a Transporter with a tube preamp after it. Bring the noise floor up by 50db or so and add a bunch of (mostly the "good", even) harmonic distortion. Certainly not for the DAC. I can't tell what all he has wired up there, but I'm guessing the additional power supplies are just being used for the tube voltages. There will absolutely be a real and audible difference in sound.
