I find the XLR to sound quite a bit better than RCA. I wouldn't want to go back to RCA with my balanced amp. When I single blind AB'd the 2, the balanced won out every time
I do use the RCA outs on The TP to feed my tube headphone amp which is not balanced (DarkVoice337 > AKG701) and it does sound very good.
