Okay so it looks like this thread is heading in the direction of the old objectivist versus subjectivist and double blind test arguments. And I for one, would rather not go there. What I don't understand is why isn't an oenophile considered to have "a psychological condition" and to be "disconnected from reality"? Doesn't every wine that costs more than $15/bottle just taste the same? And who can tell the difference between grapes grown on the north side of the hill in 1998 form grapes grown on the south side of the hill in 1999? Rule number 1: just because YOU can't see, hear, smell, taste or feel the difference doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't someone who can. Rule number 2: just because YOU don't care about the difference doesn't mean that there isn't someone who does care. Now if you would excuse me, my garden hose, er I mean, speaker cable is sounding kind of funny. I think I need to change this red cable for a blue one, since blue sounds much more mellow than red (but not as mellow as yellow). -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43910 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
