Okay so it looks like this thread is heading in the direction of the
old objectivist versus subjectivist and double blind test arguments.
And I for one, would rather not go there.

What I don't understand is why isn't an oenophile considered to have "a
psychological condition" and to be "disconnected from reality"? Doesn't
every wine that costs more than $15/bottle just taste the same? And who
can tell the difference between grapes grown on the north side of the
hill in 1998 form grapes grown on the south side of the hill in 1999?

Rule number 1: just because YOU can't see, hear, smell, taste or feel
the difference doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't someone who
can.

Rule number 2: just because YOU don't care about the difference doesn't
mean that there isn't someone who does care.

Now if you would excuse me, my garden hose, er I mean, speaker cable is
sounding kind of funny. I think I need to change this red cable for a
blue one, since blue sounds much more mellow than red (but not as
mellow as yellow).
