I am familiar with Miller's jitter test - it is the "j-test" described
in this paper by Julian Dunn:
http://www.nanophon.com/audio/diagnose.pdf. The test is NOT suitable
for a source device, only an S/PDIF DAC (or generally, a DAC which
generates its clock by PLL recovery from a manchester-encoded signal).

Unfortunately the reviewers do not understand how the test works and
they try to apply it to everything with a D->A converter. That simply
doesn't work. To characterize something like Transporter, you need far
more sensitive equipment and you need to be able to look at clock
signals directly.

Actually, the Miller test may be of some value in characterizing
Transporter's _S/PDIF receiver_, but still I would prefer to use modern
test equipment for that.
