It means the gear may have a scratch or two, may have been a demo, may have been a returned item. As such it will have audiophile cooties which will seriously degrade the sound. Ask Opaqueice about this. He is a physicist and can explain the effect cooties have on the quantum level.
OK, seriously, Audio Advisor is a reputable shop and buying demo etc. is fine and a good way to save money. I have bought from them before. You should also check audiogon to see if there are used ones for even less.
