If I could return to the topic without being flamed as a pyromaniac ;o) I see no-one has ventured an opinion on why expensive and usually very heavy gauge plugs and cables are a good idea when one phase of the mains has to travel through a teeny tiny fuse...thus undoing all the "good work" of that chunky cable.
