This is essentially what I'm doing. I using a number of SB3s (5 in total, have 3 presently) each with a pair of powered monitors.
I'm playing with various powered monitors at the moment. At present I have : - Alesis M-520s - Behringer B2031As - M-Audio BX5a's - KRK Rokit 5s (borrowed) I'm also considering a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2 Actives. I'm just buying a bunch of gear with the intention of listening to it for a while. That which I don't like I'll resell on E-bay. I did this with IP phones over the past couple of years. I tried about 20 models before settling on the three that I use daily.
