Hmm. Thanks George, P and Kurt. You've hit the nail on the head - this is something driven in no small part by a demand for neatness.
We're prepared to forgo some of the benefit of great sound quality (although I of course do want "very good" as opposed to "mind blowing" ) for the sake of neatness and the benefit of ease of access of our entire music library anywhere in the house. AS we're doing extensive renovations to the house, budget is also a big issue. I'd planned on putting in speakers in 3 rooms (one's very tricky, as it's very long and is double height in two thirds of the space and single height in another!) and then leaving cavities with wiring in remaining rooms so when budget permits I can install more speakers). Are in wall speakers a better option from a sound quality perspective?
