As with all things of any complexity, I'm forced to balance a number of considerations... NEATNESS - Aesthetics are a consideration, so am trying to find a solution that doesn't take up much space, and blends in, rather than calls attention to itself ROOM DESIGN - I'm afraid I can't really mould the design of the room/walls to enhance the audio, but have to work within what I've got. That means I can't have deeper walls to accomodate deep cabinets and rooms with lots of right angles. One room will be particularly tricky to design a speaker layout for (long, narrow, with double-height ceiling at one end and lower ceiling at the other...I'm hoping to post a floor plan and cross section of this room at a later date, as I'm perplexed as to how to best manage speaker placement here and would love advice!) COST - Am trying to work within a budget of around A$400 (US$350) per speaker pair.
honestguv, you mentioned the Behringers are a "step up from computer monitor sound". While I'm working within the constraints above, is it unrealistic to hope that under these constraints I'd get something appreciably better than that? Any advice gratefully received.
