Do not use the QED product for what you are trying to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is not just a switch, it is a parallel swicth for Speakers only! Meaning that one amp can drive pair A as an 8 ohm load or pair B as an 8 ohm load or both pairs at the same time as a 4 ohm load. Now imagine both switch buttons pressed to select both pairs (your amps) to your one pair of speakers and both amps are on by accident, not good. Can a switch be used? Yes it can. But it can not be a parallel switch. It needs to be a simple either Amp A or Amp B switch with plenty of isolation if either amp has any amount of current headroom. It should never be switched when either amp is on. If both amps are in the same location this would be better because it would allow for the long speaker cable run to be whatever you walet allows with two short runs from amps to switch. Personally, the safest thing is to use a proper Pre-amp that has an HT pass-through. But this assumes that your HT Receiver has a mains RCA output jack. The other nice thing about this is that your main amp always gets used so speaker cable is what is best match for the amp and speakers. From the web info I could find, your Rcvr doesn't appear to have any pre-amp outs. One could also buy a new HT Reveiver that would allow for all of this. The Adcom GFR-700HD comes to mind. Works as a Pre-amp, takes HDMI, has pre-amp outs for all channels as well as 140W for 5 channels. It will drive your other speakers for movie watching and always send the mains to your amp for the front R & L speakers whether it is movie, CD, or SB3 source. And with your main amp you really only need 5 channels driven. -- iPhone iPhone Last.FM /user/mePhone Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono Blocks, Vandersteen Quatro, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Bedroom: SB3, NAD C370, Thiel 2.3 Home Office: SB3, Parasound Vamp v.3, VSM-1 Sigs Mobile: SB3, Audioengine A5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48409
