Replaygain very carefully provides peak as well as gain tags, precisely
so that playback devices can avoid clipping when applying positive gain
values. However, AFAIK there is no formal requirement that a playback
device must honour those peak tags, and is at liberty to introduce
clipping if it so desires. The SB firmware falls into the category of
playback devices which DO introduce clipping. Whether this is
categorised as a bug or a feature is a matter of some debate.

FWIW, I regard it as a BUG. If it weren't for the fact that there's a
fairly straightforward workaround (detailed in the bugzilla report),
I'd say it was actually quite serious.

As for what control you have over it:
1. You can elect not to use Replaygain at all.
2. You can amend the RG tags in the source files before SqueezeCenter
scans them.
3. You can update the data in the SC database after the scan. The
necessary SQL code is detailed in the bug report.
4. If your library is all pop and rock releases from 1990 onwards, you
probably won't have any positive RG gain values anyway, so the problem
will not manifest itself.
