Yes, I've been using it that way but I personally find the sound is noticeably better when I use the Transporter to do the conversion. I was hoping there might be any easy solution since I have to also use the room for HT and I don't want to be disconnecting and connecting stuff when I switch back and forth. My speakers go down to 36 so they still sound good w/o the sub but I'd love to add the Fathom.
