To go back to the initial post (and the linked article), I disagree with the authors on one point. High-end D/A converters (perhaps) may have not evolved drastically on the last 10-15 years or so, but there is one very important thing that changed : the low/medium-priced ones have become really better. And, as time passes, their quality keeps on getting to the lower price tag. In other words, perhaps there has been no big revolution lately, but a lot of (not-so-rich)audiophiles can nowadays -at last- listen to a decent dac without mortgaging their mother-in-law's house.
