There is no doubt that the SB3 can be improved in various ways - the transporter is a prime example.
Certain modders are selling things like $1,500 external power supplies (for a $300 device!), "quantum purifiers", and other such nonsense. But others are doing honest work, and a few of those might even be able to improve things.
