Sure, one could argue. Nevertheless, the AVR-300 that I owned for a
couple of years, has a dac which comes barely at the level of a
Cambridge 540C CD player. It's a bit lower than the latter, in fact.
So, the myth that says that Arcam A/V receivers are more "hi-fi" than
other A/V equipment is just that: a myth.
The Arcam AVR internal dacs are not at the level of my Denon 3808 ones,
let alone a dedicated 1500$-dac. And I definitely doubt it's as good as
the Transporter's internal dac (but I haven't personnally tested a TP
in good conditions to assure you about it).
