Absolutely it can. The SPDIF stream is different. Bear in mind that SPDIF is just an analogue signal. In one case it is carrying additional noise from the CD transport mech, in the other it is carrying (different) noise from the SB. The TACT is very sensitive to input jitter. The ability of the TACT to recover the clock (within its ASRC chip - which is a D/A process) will be different in each case. This is why TACT users spend time and money trying to get the lowest jitter at the entry point to the TACT. However, this isn't about the TACT as such. It's about the fact that the SPDIF streams are different from SB and CD.
