I run both my SB Duet and my SAT CD player through a benchmark audio DAC1 and can't differentiate between the two sources. Before adding in the DAC, my CD player was a clear notch above the Duet although that is not surprising given it cost about eight times as much.
In my opinion, The Benchmark DAC is the most important piece of kit in my entire set up bringing the awesomely useable Squeezebox up to audiophile standard.
