Well kind of - the limiting factor is not the geekport circuitry in a direct sense, but rather the choice of headphone amp, which was constrained by geekport requirements (specifically it needed a standby mode where its outputs would go high-Z). However, that does not mean the RCA outputs are preferable to drive headphone. They are coupled with relatively small capacitors so you'll get no bass, and there is very little power, so it'll be distorted too. Transporter's has split power rails, so its outputs are driven without caps - they should be OK in that respect, although as I said I have not tried to characterize them with a headphone load. Nobody's tried it yet? Somebody "borrowed" my HD-600 so I'll have to find something else suitable... -- seanadams ------------------------------------------------------------------------ seanadams's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28236 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
