I would love to understand the previous images, nut have no clue. Im
just a mech. engineer who learnt to trust my ears when buying audio.

I did a recompare the Transporter to the MajikDS this weekend, just to
refresh my memory. I did have different signal cables (linn black in
transporter, linn silver in the majikds) but otherwise in the same
equipment (linn majik kontrol, majikc6100 amp, active linn Kabers)
All you linn guys know their tune-dem method, which I am not very well
educated in, and the comment from me regarding more bass would make all
you tune-dem guys sigh & roll your eyes...
Anyway, comparison done using ears, playing 30 seconds of one random
song, trying to establish audible/recognisable differences.

Results:
+ Transporter slightly lower bass (My memory was incorrect)
- Transporter higher trebles (sounding harsh & I did compensate my
active filters during my transproter days for this since it induced
listening fatigue)
+ Transporter remote cntrl interface owns the Linn
+ MajikDS easily sounds more in tune, no listening fatigue, more
texture to the intruments, sounding more "hifi" (Kaber filters back to
default setting since going MajikDS)
+MajikDS & IpodTouch+PlugPlayer is a ok interface that do display
albumart when album plays (not when browsing)

I think I could id the Transporter in blind testing based on the harsh
trebles, but I bet some more skilled tune-dem guy would pick out the
majik too using tune-dem.

I did begin with the squeezebox three years ago, upgraded to
transporter almost two years ago, then comparing it to a Linn Ikemi CD
(which the transporter sounded on par with in my ears)

But, anyhow, for 2kusd, I would recommend the Majik before the
Transporter. I dont know how much the majik is in the US, but since the
USD is strong nowadays compared to £, it should be around that sum?
Those of you who can live with a bit less musicality or do not care
about the Linn sound by all means, go with the Transporter, no
additional Ipod cost is needed to giev a great GUI.

I did listen to the Linn KlimaxDS compared to the MajikDS, listening to
a live recording of Rolling Stones. And as I remember it, it seemed like
a different song using the Klimax, so much better musicality.

So when comparing Linns to other eq, use a unknown or seldom played
song (playing old favs are prohibited) and try following the tune. the
machine that makes you follow the tune better is better. And how this
compares to analytic measurments, I have no clue.
