Are you using balanced outs from the CD player? If not... If you rip a CD without level adjustment and play it back without replay gain with maximum volume it should sound approximately as loud through the SBR as through a CD player. If it sounds significantly quieter, I suggest strongly we should troubleshoot this problem before even _considering_ a sound quality comparison. It might be the symptom of a deeper problem with the unit or the set up. Darren
