It does not matter where you decode flac , serverside or the unit itself , it does not output FLAC - it outputs SPDIF. Translate one of your FLAC files to WAv or rip a WAV file and play it back if you think otherwise. Sounds to me as tho your DAC may be faulty or you havent selected the relevant digital input on the CDP's dac.
