a long shot try to manually set -8 and see what happens ?
--best should be "8" but who knows.
(If I don't remember wrong i think winamp and others used 12 in
compression level ? which is not working on most other devices
especially hardware ones.)
Try -6 -7 to see where it stops working.
try -8 with a 48kHz file (to see where the limit is ).

Any other flac options used ? This forum is full of people using using
flac files in 24/96 i suppose ?

You should definitely file a bug.
You are only trying to stream a flac file to your TP this should work
yes ? some other poster in this tread ( ted_b) is talking about
serverside transcoding and streaming as wav.
this confuses some.
