Being a late-to-the-table Zep fan, I can't speak for the first issues of the material, but I do have Mothership and it does sound fantastic. But let's bear in mind;
"The music on this Compact Disc was originally recorded on analog equipment. We have attempted to preserve, as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording. Because of its high resolution, however, the Compact Disc can reveal limitations of the source tape." On certain tracks, those limitations are very obvious. But that is not the fault of the remaster, which is very kickable. It is more likely the original recording or master tapes (see also Layla by Derek & the Dominos). -- sebage http://www.last.fm/user/sebage/ Main system; SB3 - Bel Canto S300 - B&W 703 In the study; SBG - Beresford TC-7510 - T-Amp - B&W DM600 & Sony Sub For the hard to reach places; SBB ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sebage's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2617 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62229 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
