I'm of the opinion that most audiophile equipment is "high fi jewelry" and if one can afford it then it should be enjoyed (I mean that) as such. The most important thing is great music and I'm more convinced than ever that great music doesn't require great hifi. Great recordings might require great hifi, but not great music, IMO. All this stuff is certainly nice to have, but far from necessary.
