but... I don't buy hi-fi mags for jewellery reviews (that's why I
stopped reading Hi-Fi+ ... it became a joke. Bring back Hi-Fi Answers
from the late 70's I say - reasonable reviews and some humour - just got
a bit wrapped up in the whole Linn/Naim hegemony I guess).

Anyway, I agree - great music dosen't need great gear. I'm just
listening to a new 4-cd set from DG (Mendelssohn, 5 symphonies/7
overtures - LSO/Abbado) on me Boom... lovely. Really glad I watched that
recent BBC series on composers!
