I am going to try the Dac Magic on some low cost CD players and also as a "sound card" via USB on a PC. I am guessing it will sound better than garden variety CD players and better than older, mediocre sound card built into older PCs and notebooks.
Probably the better sound cards (Creative X-Fi, etc) these days can sound as good; and maybe I'll find that even garden-variety CD players don't really sound any worse.
